Ceiling soundproofing for PART E
Achieving Part E on a ceiling can be done at a relatively low cost with the latest ceiling isolation clip technology available. There are rubber isolation clip options which drop the ceiling as little as 10mm below the joists to be the best slimline Part E ceiling systems. FLOOR SOUNDPROOFING FOR PART E
Floor systems that pass Part E can be fitted with minimal height loss depending on what ceiling has been installed below. If you have plasterboards directly fixed to the underside of the joists then a more substantial system will be needed on the floor above to achieve the pass. If there is a dropped frame system in place below you can install a soundproofing mating or similar on the floor to achieve the pass. I you know what is currently in place then let us know and we can prescribe a system that suits your situation.
Wall soundproofing for Part e
You may have a brick or block wall be ween dwellings or it may be a stud frame. Either way, it will need to pass Part E regulation if it is separating dwellings. Timber and metal frames can be installed for speed on-site to achieve these regulations rather than building a brick wall which will take substantially longer. These partitions also do not need to take up lots of space! By using sound isolation mounts we can de-couple the plasterboard layers from the existing structure to reduce the sound transfer and pass the sound regulations.
